I want to have a child of my own without traumatizing my child? I'm a lesbian

I want to have a child of my own without traumatizing my child? I'm a lesbian?
I rephrased the question better. I knew about artificial insemination but I'm not sure that's healthy for my child's mental health. What do I tell her when she's older? I really love children, but I'm not sure this is all too healthy.

YEAH IT IS YOU
2 :
How is artificial insemination harmful to your child's health or mental health in any way? What do you tell him/her when s/he's older? Nothing! Why would you bring it up? If s/he asks, be honest. All your child will care about is that you love him/her. They won't care how they're conceived. They just want to feel protected, loved and wanted. Do you think they would become depressed or feel less wanted because you conceived through artificial insemination? They wouldn't care! Love is love. You can't define it based on how someone is conceived - if that's the case...then holy crap there should be a lot of messed up, depressed, mentally disturbed kids out there when they find out they've been given up for adoption or they were conceived through a one night stand etc.
3 :
What about actual insemination? Does the thought of being with a man, in order to conceive a child, not appeal to you? Just a thought since you have some misconceptions about artificial insemination. Good luck but I agree - the love you show to your child is much more important than how you came about having him/her.

I think I know where you're going with this , but I'm kinda still confused..Are you saying that you're afraid of the questions they're gonna ask when they know, biologically, you're their mother but your partner/their other mom, unless you're planning on the single mom route, is not? Or what you're going to tell them when they wonder where daddy is?
5 :
Tell the truth. This is the only answer.
6 :
Hun, you will be fine, if you want a child, have one, it's easy. Look at the millions of children raised by single mothers, especially nowadays. Your child will be blessed to have 2 MOTHERS!!! She will be loved... Please do what makes you happy! Of course they won't be traumatized. You could also adopt? Lots of poor unfortunate kids need homes. Or do you want a biological child?
7 :
Insemination cannot harm your child. So, don't worry about that. The American Psychological Association did some research about same-sex couple having children: Can lesbians, gay men, and bisexuals be good parents? Yes. Studies comparing groups of children raised by homosexual and by heterosexual parents find no developmental differences between the two groups of children in four critical areas: their intelligence, psychological adjustment, social adjustment, and popularity with friends. It is also important to realize that a parent's sexual orientation does not indicate their children's. Another myth about homosexuality is the mistaken belief that gay men have more of a tendency than heterosexual men to sexually molest children. There is no evidence to suggest that homosexuals or bisexuals molest children at a higher rate than heterosexuals. http://www.apa.org/helpcenter/sexual-orientation.aspx Hope this helps!

With the 1 child law in China what happens if a couple has twins

With the 1 child law in China what happens if a couple has twins?
I've read that the only child gets special privileges like health care, schooling etc. But, what happens when twins are born. Does the oldest only get those privileges or do both kids get them?

I don't know I'm sure the law is written to include exceptions though. Maybe its one pregnancy as opposed to one child.
2 :
they eat one of them
3 :
It isn't a law. My aunt is planing to have another one. She already has 2
4 :
They keep them and if the first born is a girl they can try again. I just watched this on PBS " Inside China "
5 :
I'm going to guess that they don't have both. My dad saw a CNN special on the 1 child law, and the people in China were having abortions even up into the last trimester if they found out they were having girls... They only want boys, because of security in their future, but CNN said that hard times are ahead in China due to the fact no girls are even being born. Because of how loose China is with abortion, even at the end of pregnancy, I wonder if they even allow people to have both of the babies...
6 :
I found this info ..
7 :
Well if twins are born: boy & boy- keep one boy, put the other one up for adoption boy & girl- keep boy and put girl up for adoption girl & girl- keep one girl and put other one up for adoption
8 :
simple answer, they either have to pay for both children entire up-bringing or, kill one of them and they will have the other child's education paid for by china. they usualy kill the female because men are better at bringing in money for the family, in twins case they'll probably kill off the weaker of the pair.
9 :
Angelina Jolie gets one. just kidding! I think they keep them both.
10 :
They keep them both, or give one up for adoption if they can't afford it (usually they can't). If both parents are only childs, then they can have two children, or if they live in a rural area. If both parents are minority people, then they can have 3.

Can I claim child support on my taxes

Can I claim child support on my taxes?
I write a check for an amount assigned by the state plus i pay for health care the my child. Can I claim this on my taxes?

dunno about the healthcare, but no on the child support
2 :
Nope...you sure can't! Unless...in the divorce your spouse agreed to let you claim the child.
3 :
yep.
4 :
The health care maybe but the child support not anymore.
5 :
no
6 :
NO
7 :
Custody is the determining factor here. If you share custody 50-50 you are allowed to claim the child every other year. Since you mention that you pay child support, I assume you do not have more than 50%. According to the Federal laws if the child lives with you more than 50% of the time you can claim that child. Make sure your ex has not already filed claiming the child before you do though or you can get into trouble.
8 :
There are guidelines for tax purposes, if you have the supporting documentation, you could as well as medical, for medical if you have spent anything over 7.5% of your AGI then you can claim the overage. Make sure you consult with your tax person before you do this. This could red-flagg your return for an audit.
9 :
You cannot claim the child support amount but you can claim your payment for the child's health care.
10 :
You can only declare the child as your depended if the mother has agreed to let you. If she doesn't declare her you need the child's soc sec. #. If she declares the child on her taxes and the court hasn't given you permission to declare you can't write off child support. You can go back to court if you are supporting more than 50 percent of the child's income and child care needs, if you can prove that, the courts might issue an order that you can declare the child as a dependent. Good luck.
11 :
My husband pays out around $2,200 per month. He can't claim one dime.
12 :
Of course not thats milking the system,, your child is your responsibility, now if that child did not have a mother or a father or a mother that could not work because of health issues than that would be a diffrent story................................ your child is your responsibitly not the state. sorry i know its not what you want to hear
13 :
No. Why would the IRS give you credit for something you should be doing anyway? Some people, geesh!
14 :
You cannot claim the support that you pay. You can however claim what you pay in health care or med/dental bills, IF you itemize deductions.
15 :
No to the child support. Possibly to the healthcare as a medical expense on Schedule A. Medical expenses are an itemized deduction and only the amount that exceeds 7.5% of your adjusted gross income. If the premium for health insurance are taken out of paycheck with pre-tax dollars you can't use them. Add up your premiums (if they qualify), presciptions, co-pays, glasses, contacts, dentist, etc. The portion of the total that exceeds 7.5% of your agi will be your deduction.

could a health emergency on a child be effected by their religion or culture? could this effect their symptoms

could a health emergency on a child be effected by their religion or culture? could this effect their symptoms

Definately, some religions do not believe in getting blood products. Therefore if a child is in a horriable accident or has an injury where they need a transfusion and that is refused based on religion that child could die. Religion wouldn't affect the symptoms, but certainly could reflect upon the outcome.
2 :
i guess so. depends on what the family believes in because some cultures have different meanings for health problems. some people believe that seizures are spiritual beings messing with the body. it's odd to think that but they do. to answer your question is kind of hard because you aren't thoroughly explaining the emergency.

Does the ultrasound in humidifiers harm children's health in the long run

Does the ultrasound in humidifiers harm children's health in the long run?
I bought a ultrasonic humidifier for my baby. Now I'm concerned if the ultrasound enery it emits would have any negative effects on baby's health, even if it might not be noticable now?

Ultrasonic humidifiers may be a health hazard Nutrition Health Review, Spring, 1989 BOISE: Ultrasonic humidifiers that aerosolize water pose a health hazard if tap water is used in them, since minerals and other materials dissolved in the water may be released as particles small enough to be inhaled deep into the lungs. That is the conclusion of researchers from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. V. Ross Highsmith and Charles E. Rodes from the agency's Environmental Monitoring Systems Laboratory, Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, and Richard J. Hardy of Morrison-Knudsen Engineers in Boise, Idaho studied the impact on indoor air quality in Boise homes when public tap water was used with several types of humidifiers -- ultrasonic, cool-mist, and steam. Humidifiers are frequently used in winter to alleviate symptoms caused by dry, heated air -- such as chapped lips and irritated throats and noses. Ultrasonic units use electronic transducers to propel water into the air in fine spray; "cool mist" humidifiers use a spinning rotor to drive water through a ring of staggered screens, forcing it into droplets; steam units heat water, causing it to evaporate into the air. Advertisement The researchers found that an ultrasonic humidifier run in a kitchen for only six to eight hours raised the particles concentration of the air to four times the 24-hour outdoor particle level allowable by the EPA (which has no particle standards for indoor air quality). When the ultrasonic humidifier was operated in a closed bedroom, the resulting particle concentration in the air was nearly 50 times the EPA's outdoor standard. Compared with the ultrasonic humidifiers, the cool-mist units generated less than one-third the respirable particle concentration, and a steam unit generated no measureable increase in aerosolized fine particles. The researchers emphasized the potential for ultrasonic humidifiers (and to a lesser extent cool-mist humidifiers) to disperse into the air such harmful waterborne impurities as aluminum, asbestos, and lead. Internship regarding health promotion and children

Internship regarding health promotion and children?
I am looking for a summer internship dealing with health education/promotion. Ideally, I would like something involving children. I have contacted the school system and a few other places, but I am starting to run out of ideas. Does anyone have any suggestions? I really need something paid due to rent payments.

Autistic child outlives parents - what does s/he do for health care

Autistic child outlives parents - what does s/he do for health care?
and daily survival? I mean after we vote away socialist programs like state aid? right? tfoly - you don't get how dependant some people can be - "succeed on their own" is not a viable answer in the spirit of this question

Relies on the state.
2 :
That is what the health care bill is all about.
3 :
I don't think anyone is out there saying that we should put an end to programs like state aid. I have never heard anyone from any group, party or ideology even tout that. The question is how are we going to pay for it and make it a sustainable solution? Do we put more money into it and make it bigger or do we find ways to make private funding more workable. If the feds simply paid the same rate insurers pay for services instead of paying far less and far slower, more doctors would accept low income patients and be able to earn an income. Premiums would decrease because the private insurers wouldn't be forced to pick up the rest of the tab, More people could afford private care and the private insurers could do far more to create programs to help people. Some government intervention is necessary to make insurers do what they should but not an entire takeover. In the end, socialism does not help the poor it only creates more poor and a wider division between the rich and poor. It disables people from having the power to do things for themselves. Plus, when you are talking about an autistic child who outlives their parents, their parent was not properly trained or told what to do to prepare for the case of that event. We don't do enough to explain to parents of special needs children that they have important responsiibilities such as lining up people willing to take that child in case of their death. The healthcare system has not evolved to the point of giving parents a handbook, just a diagnosis and then the parent has to figure it out from there and if they are not responsible or capable that far then that is something that DCFS should be looking into helping them with. The government cannot manage everything. I'm not sure it can manage anything from what I've seen. The problem is that when we turn state emergency aid into - managed care for all Americans who are not super rich - then we are talking Animal Farm. Some people are more equal than others. I sure hope you've read that George Orwell novel. State aid here is a mass of cows running to a clinic getting little to no care because the doctors don't have time to provide care when the caseload is so massive. State aid is 59 months behind in paying the doctor. Will the malpractice company, electric bills and other bills doctors pay wait that long to get paid? How will a doctor earn a living? The best doctors don't practice here anymore. Making an unsustainable program bigger is not the answer. Without tort reform and controls on lawsuits - the lawyers and insurance companies will never feel the hurt. But, the rest of us will as it gets bigger and more expensive at some point raising taxes will not cover it and then the cuts will come - some services will not be provided to those without private care, they will start with age limits and deciding who is most valuable to receive care. It's what it leads to that is scary - not the idea of utopia itself.

Well one example get help from the State like Food Stamps and Medicaid, two Get help from Friends and Relatives or Three have him or her Succeed on his or her own I'm sure they don't need any help as Adults.

We are one of the few countries that don't take care of it's citizens. Republicans have you so damn scared of everything the government now has become the enemy. Government is only the party in power. For 30 years Republicans have ruled the roost. Check the national debt just before Reagan and after the Bush kid. They added trillions to the debt and what did we get? Everything crashed because middle America could no longer support big business. Does anyone remember . McCain saying the economy is sound? what happened Wall Street Crashed why? same reason the 29 crash. http://www.nowpublic.com/world/mccains-good-buddy-gramm-architect-deregulation-wall-street Now they have you believing the Democrats did all this damage in 2 years and why isn't thinks working now, simple http://www.google.com/search?q=republican+obstruction&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a Now middle class Republicans are voting in extreme right wing tea party wackos. glad I'm retired your about to make another costly mistake. .

I cant afford child support, cost of living and health insurance

I cant afford child support, cost of living and health insurance.?
So first, i am single 24 yr old male living on my own and have a 4 year old daughter in which i pay child support for. I had recently got a new job as an electricians apprentice in the state of Massachusetts, trying to better myself, build a career, and make more money.I've been ending up in dead end jobs since graduating high school, until now. I pay $456 a month for child support and i have no problem paying for my daughter. The $456 was based on my last jobs income and was taking home a pay of about $500 a week. I am now taking home $633 a week. So now my new job offers health insurance which is mandatory now in the state of Massachusetts, and was ordered to now provide health insurance for my daughter. Now on top of the $456 a month for child support and a very expensive health insurance plan of $965 dollars a month that leaves me with $278 a week for myself. With this income it is absolutely impossible to pay my rent, (2 weeks late so far) utilities, groceries, car insurance which I'm paying for the lowest basic coverage, i own a 97 jetta that is in desperate need of repairs and with 170,000 miles on it. i owe $200 for tools that i bought to just get me started and need many more, it sucks when your foreman consistently tells you that you need to get more tools but you cant afford them. It is also mandatory for me to attend school in September, (which i cant afford) and i just got a letter from my employer today stating that if i'm not enrolled i will be dropped from the apprenticeship program. I had gone down to the local probate court about 2 weeks ago to request a court hearing and still waiting on one. I have no idea what is gonna happen. Is the judge going to understand my situation? Is the judge going to help me? What can i do? I know lowering the support wont do anything, i don't want it lowered. Lowering $114 isn't going to help me much or benefit my daughter. Its pretty much the health insurance that's killing me. My daughter was on Mass health. I know this is a lot, and im pretty much spilling my guts to the world, but i wanted everyone to see all aspects of the situation and Im not here for people to feel bad for me, just for some help, input, advice anything can help at this point. Thanks

I would call social services and see if they have a program to help you with the medical insurance.
