Given his age, I would suspect what your son has is a case of pinworms. Especially if he seems to complain of the itch more at night. It could also cause more itch directly after a bowel movement as the tiny parasites are in the locale waiting to exit while he sleeps to lay eggs on the outside skin. He could also simply have itcy dry skin, from soap that is not being rinsed away well after a bath. There isn't a lot to ease the itch that is a good thing to use in that particular area, although they do make a cream for vaginal itching for women that you could try. Otherwise, I suggest checking between the cheeks at night while he's asleep to see if you can visualize the little worms. The doctor has a few other tests he can use to detect them as well. But that would be my first suspicion. It's not a big deal if he has them, it's easily treated with a course of tablets or even over the counter medications available. Kids just get them sometimes, especially the preschool set.

ouch! If it is inside, I would skip the regular doctor and go straight to the gastroenterologist. Its probably nothing try neosporin or other anti-itch and a warm bath.

How can I get affordable health insurance

How can I get affordable health insurance?
I'm 19, in good health, not pregnant nor do I already have a child. I was told by the state that I have to either be under 18 or have a child to get Medicare. My job does not offer insurance. What can I do? I'm on a very low income, and can't afford very much, but I am willing to pay something.

The problem is health insurance is not affordable. Call your local health department or department of health and human resources office for information about possible tips on how to receive health care for low income people. Check your yellow pages for free clinics. It will be very expensive for you to buy health insurance.
2 :
In my area, since you are healthy you would be able to get an individual policy for $50 to $220 per month depending upon deductible and other benefits. If you want a plan with limited doctor visits the premium will be less. If you want maternity coverage figure on around $300 more per month. You should visit your local independent agent. This person knows the market in your area and can find the right policy for your situation. They don't charge for the service.
3 :
Your best option may be to get discount health benefits. You can check out Ameriplan, which is very affordable. Here is the website http://www.YourSimpleCard.com. On the left side you will see Ameriplan Health. Click there to find out about their health benefits, They also offer dental, prescription, chiropractic and vision benefits, which are included free in their health plan or they can be purchased separately. I hope that helps.
4 :
Look into a policy that has Dr. office copays, with a high deductible ($2500-$5000) This would allow you to go to the Dr when you need too and still have some protection if you were to have a major health issue. If you don't go to the doctor very often you might even consider a plan that limits the number of doctor office visits. If you are in the state of Texas try running a quote from http://www.texashealthquote.com

and trying to survive on his own by paying rent, utilites, food, car payment and car insurnace and is having a hard time doing so....he has tried to seek some sort of legal advice through legal aid , but they have said he makes too much money to help him......when he was divorced he had a different job ...made more money due to overtime..now has new job that does not pay overtime, but he makes pretty good money , just not enough to survive on his own....does anyone have any advice to where he could seek help in order for him to survive on his own...as in legal advice that would not cost him anything or not much at all

There really isn't anything he can do, except rearrange his budget. It's not the answer he or you may be looking for, but that's the first step. I too pay child support and health insurance for my son, and I don't have the money for a newer vehicle or many other things, but my wife and do the best we can. It's not fair, but that's life. Does he have an attorney? Perhaps he can consult with his attorney to find a way to make things easier for him. Best of luck.
2 :
Since he is working a new job making less money about the only thing he can do is go back to court and get his child support reduced (but I believe he has to be a new job for over 1 year). Sorry, not much help.
3 :
I feel for ya. I went through that for 20 years due to two failed marriages. I hated being constantly broke, but I kept reminding myself it was for my children. Maybe you should switch some of the words in your sentence around.
2 :
Yes they are. We have to make sure that children are protected up to the minute they are born, after that, they are on their own. Can't let those little jobless leeches suck up any of my tax dollars that can be used to kill brown children in other countries! (This is sarcasm for those who are incredibly thick).

Do you think having an seriously overweight child can be a form of child abuse

Do you think having an seriously overweight child can be a form of child abuse?
Sometimes it makes me so sad when I see severely overweight adults (which it is there right if they want to live that way) raising young severly overweight children. It just makes me sad that this isnt considered a form of child abuse. They are most likely setting that child up for years of health problems like juvenile diabetes, asthma, heart conditions, and even mental illnesses like low self esteem. What do you think should be done to help curb child obesity? typo/clarification: (which it is their right (the parents) to live their life how they want to)

I totally agree with you 100% I think parents should really think about what they went through as a kid and want better for their children and their selves. I think schools should teach healthy live and cooking and exercise, if the parent are not going to teach them then someone should.
2 :
it shouldn't be a crime
3 :
Yes, it can be abuse, or more likely neglect. But not always--many medications cause weight gain, so do some medical conditions. To curb child obesity...how about stopping government subsidies for raising fattening foods, taxing fattening foods (bakery items, potatoes, beef) but not non-fattening ones (fish, most vegetables), eliminating advertising of all types directed at children (but esp for fast food and candy), teaching parents to restrict TV watching and video games, and mandating child participation in sports activities?
4 :
it might be child abuse, but fat chance on getting any jury to convict on it. my father was away for half of my life as a kid because he was in the Navy. does that translate as Neglect? i sure as hell hope not.
5 :
YES!!! I haven't gotten as far on what I think we should/could do... because I simply can't get past how people let themselves get that way in the first place! People are just lazier and FATTER! It's just disgusting and I think it definitely is a LOT of child abuse. Mentally they're telling them they can do whatever they want, while making them this way they're putting them through mental anguish, and physically they causing all those health problems and premature death! The entire situation is just unbelievable.
6 :
I think it's abuse for sure. Parents have a choice. Feed their kids junk or give them healthy food. It makes me ill seeing 10 year olds with fat rolls. As far as how to stop it I have no idea. Some parents have no idea what to feed their kids or they know what to give them and choose to be lazy and not give them good food. If you figure it out let me know. I'm just tired of paying for unwanted pregnancies and morbidly obese parents and children.
7 :
I am in total agreement with you! I have, often, written on other sites, that adults who rear children as overweight children should actually be charged with child endangerment, cruelty to a child, and neglect. Children who are severely overweight do NOT fit in, happily, at school........and any other social gathing, are SO at risk for diabetesII, heart problems, high cholesterol, and so many more problems................that it is a real crime in my books. We have free places, everywhere, to show people how to keep exercise up and 'fat' down for children........there is no reasonably cause for obesity in children! Thank you for bringing it to the forefront!
8 :
yes i very well agree to that as the wait and the health of the child is the overall responsibility of the parebts or one who are taking there care.and due tom which child have to face several problems like aasthma and all in there young age only.and the adults can stop childern from eating whatever they want dont you agree on this?to help reduce obesity parents should take care that healthy food is given to there child rather than fat increasing food and regular visits to the doctors.

It's kinda late. He's nearly an adult. He can make his own choices. If there was a genetic change i could make to myself to avoid, say, Alzheimer's, i'd probably go for it. Such a change might be introduced via virus. There's already testing for a virus introduced change that combats liver cancer. At the fertilized egg point, i'd be interested in avoiding Down's, and other genetic diseases. If there was an easy fix for heart disease, i might go for it. If there was an easy change to avoid short attention span (which i do not consider to be a disease) i might go for it. The changes would have to be clinically proven. It's possible that in the very near future, we'll have to radically restrict birth. There are too many of us. We can't restrict it to zero. But the ratio of people to newborns might be very, very high. And we might therefore have the resources to lavish on the very few of the next generation. We wouldn't have to call it eugenics. It'd be fine as long as you're careful to avoid racism, etc. We might even have to be careful to specifically include diversity in the gene pool.
