| i need health insurance for my unborn child i have health insurance but i can't put my baby on the plan cuz ? i'm still under my parents health plan and medicaid doesn't cover the hospital that i go to and will have the baby delivered at Pregnancy - 8 Answers  Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions : 1 : CAN U GO THE STATE OFFICE WHERE U LIVE AT AND ASK FOR INSURANCE FOR THE BABY 2 : You can find a private insurance that you pay for...that's your only option...that or stick with medicaid and find a doctor that will take it. 3 : Your health insurance should cover your and your baby's stay at the hospital.. Call your insurance to double check! 4 : you should be covered and the delivery too. a month before the baby is born apply for medicaid for the child, or you might have to wait until the child is born 5 : Contact your local social service department and tell them your dilema. They should be able to guide you on this issue. Good luck! 6 : Medicaid will pay for you to go to whatever hospital your doctor (who takes medicaid) delivers at. If your on your parents plan than go to whatever hospital they cover. Your baby should be covered for the first six weeks if they are covering your pregnancy, they will cover the first 6 weeks!! That gives you 6 weeks to get your baby medicaid or kid care or whatever and find a new pediatrician who takes it. 7 : Your plan doesn't cover your baby up to 6 weeks after birth? I would check into Medical or Healthy Families not sure what area you are in.
