What do you think, Obama literally wants universal health care

What do you think, Obama literally wants universal health care?
According to a news article Obama wants to set aside 63 billion dollars to fight world disease and for prenatal/post natal care as well as children's health for countries other than the US. Bush set aside money ($15 billion) for aids and malaria originally but Obama is increasing the amount plus adding prenatal/post natal care as well as children's health.

Good for him. You have to be particularly blinded by partisanship to see health care for children as a bad thing.
2 :
YES, HE REALLY WANTS IT.
3 :
its a lie...its a cover...to gain greater control and create dependency among people don't be fooled by this charade.... Politicians tend to care more about power before welfare of the people.... that is why our government was designed the way it was...to fight itself....
4 :
I wouldnt doubt that he would like to provide free health care for the world on our dime.
5 :
Political forces (other countries) at work. What would happen if the US said no to humanitarian aid? Oops?
6 :
Universal free health care will cost us billions in extra taxpayer money! Not to mention the "better" doctors will not be around to see you....
7 :
good for him just increasing out debt even more now our greatgreatgreatgreatgreatgrand children are going to pay off his debt
8 :
He's not proposing national health care much less world wide. I doubt these figures are much higher than Bush's. For some reason, Bush had a soft spot for African. He sent more humanitarian aid than any other president before him.
9 :
and im for it, 100%
10 :
Universal healthcare would leave us billions in debt with less quality healthcare. Look how well it has worked out for other countries on this system - talk to someone from the UK, they will tell you it's awful.

Can you say "Manchurian Candidate"? Everything BHO does is completely insane. The fact that roughly half of U.S. voters chose him is testimony to the success of the government schools in making children completely unaware of the basic meaning, purpose, and structure of the U.S. Constituion. Our Founding Fathers are rolling over in their graves!

And you have a problem with this? Cutting subsidies to oil companies would easily pay for all of this. What is the problem?

Well, he has already provided funding for world wide abortions. He might as well just expand his pro-socialist policies, because why just here..? TODAY AMERICA, TOMORROW THE WORLD!!!! MWUAHAHAHA. Socialize all the entire planet and just spread every single ounce of American wealth intro every other 3rd world country leaving us in the dust. What happened to America first liberals?

We'd have to find away to tax everyone in the Universe before that could happen, and you know how those Martians are... freakin' martian freeloaders.

I do not doubt that our current president does not have the best interests of this nation at heart. As an aside, I love how the left defend every Obama policy by comparing it to Bush, possibly the worst President ever, policies as if that excuses Obama's miasma. Its like saying the last dogshit I ate was horrible so all other dogshit must be better.

In a perfect world, we could have UHC. In the real world, forget about it! We are already paying way too many taxes. Just imagine how many new justified taxes we would have if they provided everyone with health insurance? They would actually own us just that much more. Most would feel so guilty that they would willfully pay another 10% of their income to have this provided. They wouldn't be able to balance a budget for such a thing and the reason that I believe that is the fact that they can't balance a budget for anything (pretending that they care and aren't actually working for the bank of the world). You think that health care is half-arsed with your HMO or PPO? Just imagine if the government was in charge of it. And those who have something that they want to hide on their medical history will eventually have their information posted on the internet. Everything is taken that far. Signed, An Uninsured Guy that would rather stay uninsured than have the government in charge of his health care.

nah mate I'm from britain and the nhs is great and to be honest we (and the rest of europe) have a good old laugh about the U.S.A and its poor health care
18 :
We need to help America before we help other countries.
19 :
So, are you for world disease and no health care for pregnant women and infants? At least you are honest. Cruel, but honest.

It would appear so, wouldn't it? One of the biggest issues I had with the Bush administration is they were so focused on other countries and neglected the needs of Americans. Obama is doing more of that. AMERICA elected him. AMERICA is the only goddamn country he should be worrying about! I'm sorry, but I'm so fed up with the bleeding heart for every other country syndrome that Washington has. We have enough crap in our own backyard to deal with. Let them fend for themselves!

Duh, he has always said he wanted it. Bush set aside 15 billion for Africa. the us has spent much more helping foreign countries with health care. http://www.usaid.gov/locations/middle_east/

I think universal health care will back doored as through acts you describe, look at SCHIP, look at Medicare Funding. and State Programs. The point is the federal government does not care it can not afford it as long as in principle they make good on promises to those who want it.

Both Obama and Hillary Clinton have proposed universal or “single payer healthcare systems, though there is very little difference between the two approaches. Both proposals currently contain some provision for private healthcare, but for how long. Once we are down the road to government run healthcare, how long before a Democratic controlled Congress goes along and passes a true government run system? Four years? Eight? And once in place, it will never be undone. Political Night Train believes we need more light on how other universal healthcare systems are doing. Here then is the first, and perhaps one of the best articles we’ve seen. You can read the entire article at http://www.thepost.ohiou.edu/Articles/Opinion/Your%20Turn/2008/02/26/23084/ Your Turn: The real cost of “free healthcareA letter to the editors Private healthcare does have its problems, but it is hard to argue that it is failing on the whole. A widespread myth about healthcare is that Canada’s universal coverage system is superior to the U.S.’s private system in terms of quality of care received. This is a vital dynamic of the healthcare system and claims against quality of care should not be taken lightly. A patient of Canadian healthcare waits 17.7 weeks, on average, for hospital treatment with residents of Saskatchewan waiting an average of 30 weeks. These waiting times are unheard of in America’s private system. In the United States, the occasional story of a death occurring while waiting for an operation, while unfortunate and heart-wrenching, is nothing short of ordinary in countries with socialized medicine. In 1999, Dr. Richard F. Davies, a cardiologist at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, described to the Canadian Institute for Health Information how delays affected Ontario heart patients scheduled for coronary artery bypass graft surgery. In a single year, for this one operation, the doctor reported, “71 Ontario patients died before surgery, 121 were removed from the list permanently because they had become medically unfit for surgery, and “44 left the province to have the surgery, many having gone to the United States for the operation. In short, 192 people either died or became too sick to have surgery before even getting a chance to be operated on. You say you want universal healthcare, like that being proposed by Obama or Hillary? Still want to send your mama or grandpa to a universal healthcare hospital? I am not happy that these candidates do not state the facts and the figures in the form of an accounting table and not state what are the negatives in their plan. That is so important in helping people make their minds. The last point I can make is that one can see that Obama really did do his research in coming up with this plan. He must have studied the way 3M provides health-care for her employees and Jamie Oliver's movement to re-do school lunches in UK. He has taken what works and implemented it in his health-care plan. For that Obama should really be commended for it. On a personal note, it am still not sure if universal health-care is the best for US. So even though Obama has a lot of minor points that I like, I am still reserved about universal health-care unless he shows us the $$. Things that I am on the edge of We are already spending so much on health care. By giving people a national health insurance plan, wouldn't that skyrocket American expenses? Are we giving more with our left hand that we are receiving with our right? On what basis are we going to brand and grade insurance companies? How is the government going to defend against corruption and lobbyists with the National Health Insurance Exchange? How much is re-insurance for employers going to cost the taxpayer? SCHIP already cost the taxpayer more than $200 billion. How much more would it cost if it is expanded? Even though Obama's plan has got more positives than negatives, glaring fiscal questions need to be answered. Furthermore, I am not yet convinced that universal health-care, a central theme in this policy would be great for the country. Obama's plan is not bad, but not that much better than McCain's shorter plan as it fails to disclose the costs that would incur with his plan. What do you think? Whose plan do you think is better?

Obama is bankrupting the nation and our children will pay the price. His dream of universal health care is just that, a dream. It will never happen.

I would rather lower the cost of private healthcare you pay each month. I would not trust government healthcare. I was treated badly by doctors when I used to be on medicaid than I do now with private.
